How to Play
CanPin™ is a team game played by two teams consisting of two players each, but can also be played as a one on one game without any changes to the existing rules.
Game play begins with Team "A" standing at game board "A" with one ring, while Team "B" stands at game board "B" with one ring.
One player on Team "A" then tosses their ring toward the opposite game board to ring pins, while attempting to avoid knocking over the can located on the center pin, "the CanPin™". One player on Team "B" then tosses their ring toward the opposite game board to ring pins, while attempting to avoid knocking over the can on the CanPin™ (possible pin points and can points are awarded durning this exchange).
The other Player on Team "A" and the other player on Team "B" then follow the same set of rules as their teammates, becoming the next Tossers. This exchange/rotation between teammates continues with possible points being accumulated each round until a winner emerges.
Pin points (a total of 5 points, which includes the center pin), are based on the number of pins within a teams or player’s ring (pin points are subject to cancellation scoring). If a Tosser knocks over the center can with a tossed ring, the other team or player is awarded one instant free can point (pins within the Tosser’s ring of a knocked over can are still eligible for possible pin points).
A standard game of point cancellation scoring is played to 21 points or more (pin points cancel with pin points, can points are not subject to cancellation scoring and are separate from pin points). Pin points are totaled each round and the difference of the two scores is awarded to the team or player with the higher total. The winning team or player does not need to win by two or more points.
